Hi, all. Straight to the point, then. I want to let everyone know that I've launched a website today for my best writing, and a certain amount of blogging. It would be so nice if you'd take a look at it: here it is. I am actually feeling ridiculously shy about it! I mean, it's brand new, so if you want to give me any constructive criticism (I am so not a web designer) then please do so.

Pages currently hidden in the navigation menu are 'Free ebooks', because I hope really quite soon to have a novel I'm happy enough with to do that (maybe this year's NaNoWriMo, maybe last year's... or next year's! :fear:); and 'Audio', because I plan (but never seem to get round to) making recordings of some pieces. If anyone would like to hear their own voice on the site reading one of my works, then feel free to ask me about it, but why would you want to do that? :P

In the weeks to come I'll upload my most successful works of recent times: 'Rose's First Year', 'The Karma Train' and 'The Girl in the Pantry', and possibly 'A Mermaid' for an addition to the poetry page (right now the most recent stuff, prose and poetry, is from 2013). I think I also need to find a way to make my blog more interesting - hopefully that will come (suggestions for post topics welcome!) - and I'm not sure whether to include any other sections like flash fiction or historical fiction or what... but I don't need to think about that right now. It is what it is - please take a look and tell me what you think. :thanks:

Okay, enough about my website. How's your NaNoWriMo going? Now me, I wrote just over 2,500 words today (I don't work on Thursdays), but a lot of them seemed to be waffling about trees and squirrels and wolves and things. Well, that's NaNoWriMo for you! I've been trying to avoid the stereotype of the 'noble savage', but then I do want to create a sense of the landscape and the relationship these people had with nature. My main character is particularly fond of animals, even though she has to kill and eat them. I seem to have given her quite an affinity with goats! :O_o:

I find this with NaNoWriMo: I can't really stop and think too much, and if I come to something I haven't planned for, for whatever reason, I just have to go with it. But hey, challenges aren't supposed to be easy. Yesterday or the day before - I forget which - I went through the strangest thought process. Well, I haven't left them anything to eat... Banna wouldn't let them eat her goat, but then what else is there? ...Well, I did say there was a dead pony in the stable... And I went with it! :P

What else? Well, I'm almost regretting upping my Goodreads 2014 reading challenge goal to as much as 120! :O I've got thirteen more books to finish before the end of the year. I should be okay, because at this moment I'm one ahead of schedule - sometimes it gets up to two - and I was always more than that up to this month, so I can catch up after NaNoWriMo. Here, for anyone who is at all interested, is what I've been reading this year.

Questions I should not be asking myself until after NaNoWriMo:

1. Would they really bother spit roasting just one pigeon?

2. Should I be totally making up advice on how to hunt with a spear?

3. How many problems have I caused by being too stupid to research everday C1st Roman life properly before I started?

4. Would looting Romans bother to kill livestock that was no good to them, or would they just leave it, or a bit of both?

I find your site elegant and streamlined, with a good start of offerings.  Has just a bit of a 'template' feel to it, looks rather like a lot of other author's sites.  But, your task is to get people onto it, following and supporting your work.  Quality, you have.
